The service

Azusa Preceptor is an independent placement service for Azusa Pacific University (APU) nursing students. We search for preceptors and clinical sites that fit a student's APU course, prepare preceptor and site information for the student's Graduate Preceptor Request form and APU's affiliation agreement, and help find a replacement if a preceptor steps away.

Azusa Pacific University does not run this service, and the information on this site is not an official APU statement. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Azusa Preceptor, and "you" means the person using the site or the service.

APU's role and final approval

APU's placement team and faculty clear every clinical site and preceptor its graduate students use, and every site needs an affiliation agreement with APU, which the School of Nursing arranges. APU's catalog, program pages, student handbooks, course syllabi and faculty set the rules for your program.

Where anything on this site or in our communications differs from APU's current requirements, APU's requirements apply.

No promise of placement, approval or dates

We work hard to find a suitable preceptor and site for you. We do not promise that one will be found, that one will be found by a particular date, that APU will clear a site or preceptor we identify, that an affiliation agreement will be in place by a particular date, or that you will start or finish any course or program on a particular timetable.

Preceptors and sites make their own decisions and may change or withdraw their availability at any time, including after APU's approval.

Your responsibilities

You remain responsible for meeting APU's requirements and deadlines, whether or not we are helping you. In particular, you are responsible for:

• completing your CastleBranch or Complio requirements and submitting what APU asks for on time, including weekly Medatrax hour logs;
• holding an active, unrestricted California RN license for your clinicals;
• completing background checks, drug screens, health clearance, immunizations and any site requirements before patient contact;
• logging hours accurately and following each agency's rules;
• staying in contact with your clinical faculty and APU's placement team;
• giving us accurate information and telling us promptly about any change.

Fees

Our fees are quoted individually, based on your program, course, location and timing, and your quote sets out what it covers. Charges made by a clinical site or other third party, and APU's own tuition and fees, are separate from our fee.

Our guides summarize APU's public catalog, student hub, program pages and other official sources as of the date shown on each page. They are general information, not academic, legal or professional advice, and APU's rules can change. Check your syllabus, your student handbook, your clinical faculty and APU's placement team before relying on any detail.

Communications

Sending us your details means you consent to our contacting you about your enquiry and placement by email, phone call or text message, as our privacy policy describes. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of text messages.

Acceptable use

Please use this site for its intended purpose. Do not submit false information, misuse the forms or chat, or copy the site's content for commercial use without permission.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Azusa Preceptor is not liable for losses that arise from the decisions of APU, a preceptor or a clinical site, from delays in approval or course progression, or from reliance on the general information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
